EXCELLENTBased on 83 reviewsVerifiedNalani N2024-07-12Nature Walks with Berny is a FANTASTIC way to see fauna and flora in Manuel Antonio!!! We had a WONDERFUL experience in Manuel Antonio as a family of 3 with an 8yo kiddo who loves to be outdoors and loves fauna and flora. Berny was FANTASTIC with our daughter which made the experience all the more special. He asked what we’d like to see and our kiddo said sloths and hummingbirds. Berny delivered. We saw tons of flora and fauna including 2 and 3 toed sloths which were much closer than on our tours in La Fortuna and Monteverde. Definitely opt for the private tour, it was really nice to have a guide all to ourselves, and it was not much more in cost. This was the best guided tour of a national park that we went on over our two week vacation where we visited La Fortuna, Monteverde, and the Manuel Antonio area. It was such a wonderful way to end a beautiful trip. We had a tour at 11am and I was a little nervous that all the fauna would be on siesta, but this was not the case. The timing was great for our family, we had a slow morning, got to Nature Walks for an 11am tour, had a beautiful tour of MA, and then spent the afternoon on the beach until 3 when the beach closed. Sometimes when you’re doom scrolling Trip Advisor before your trip it can be difficult to sort through the many guided tours on offer… scroll no more, this is THE tour in Manuel Antonio! HIGHLY recommend Berny and Nature Walks Costa Rica.VerifiedNadeen B2024-06-09Sloths! We loved our guide! Berny asked what we really wanted to see—sloths we said! And the animal cooperated! He found five or so for us to look at. He took wonderful pictures and airdropped them to us. The tour was two hours but he was so generous in answering all our questions—I think it was nearly three hours! We were so appreciative. He made sure we had transportation to and from the park. It was a fabulous day!VerifiedDaisy R2024-05-10Highly recommend Herbert was our guide. He was very friendly and knowledgeable. We were very happy with the tour, could not believe how much wild life we saw in such a short time. He provided information on the wild life and the plants. Highly recommend to book with nature walks!VerifiedRocky M2024-03-22A day in paradise. Herbert was a kind, curious and a super knowledgeable guide. The visit to the park without him would have been a bust. His keen eye for seeing nature and depth of knowledge about Costa Ricas ecosystem is unmatched. Pura Vida!VerifiedDavid A2024-02-05Unforgettable Guided Hikes in Costa Rica During our recent stay in Manuel Antonio, Berny guided us on 2 wonderful hikes: Manuel Antonio National Park and Rainmaker. Berny’s passion and his overall knowledge of the wildlife and ecosystems provided an enjoyable and educational experience we will never forget. He spotted and showed us animals we would never have seen on our own. And he even provided us a photo record of all the wildlife we were able to see. Berny is simply the best!VerifiedFishing Devotio... C2024-01-31Excellent Guide! My wife & I visited Quepos, Costa Rica in early December where we went on two different hikes with Bernie Sanchez from Nature Walks Costa Rica. We were very impressed with his knowledge of birds, plants, animals, and everything related to the jungle. We did an afternoon hike into Manuel Antonio Park and another hike to Los Campisinos waterfall. It was incredible how many animals that Bernie pointed out that we would have never seen. Bernie speaks multiple languages, he's a professional birder, he's a licensed/certified CR guide, he's a great photographer, & he embraces the Pura Vida spirit. His company is located just outside of Manuel Antonio Park. You could not ask for a better guide to go exploring with. We are returning to Costa Rica in March and we are looking forward to more jungle explorations with Bernie. Check out Bernie and the other guides at nature walks costa rica; your won't be disappointed. Pura vida!VerifiedChristine P2023-12-30Berny Sanchez This is not in itself a review of Nature Walks Costa Rica, but their guide Berny Sanchez. Berny guided us for one day on behalf of our main tour operator whilst we were staying in the Manuel Antonio region. Berny proved to be an excellent guide and took us to a local area he knew where we had a traditional Costa Rican breakfast whilst watching numerous birds on the feeders. Berny's local knowledge added an extra 6 lifers to an already packed list from our main tour.VerifiedKristen B2023-12-29Worth the money-hire a guide! Definitely worth paying for a guide. Our guide Wilbur, is a botanist and extremely knowledgeable about all the plants and wildlife. We would not have seen a fraction what we saw (Sloths, monkeys, bats, lizards) without him. Highly recommend.VerifiedEdward S2023-12-11Birding in Esquipulas Our guide Herbert and driver Carlos rolled up right on time at 5:30 AM. We didn’t get too far down the road, when the fun began. Scarlet Macaws and Ari Kara Toucans were just the beginning. It was a full day of sightings up in the cool foothills in Esquipulas, away from the crowds in Manuel Antonio NP. Herbert showed us over 50 different birds including the White Crested Coquette. So passionate, so knowledge, Herbert was a joy. And Carlos had a very sharp eye helping with the spotting. The breakfast delicioso at Maria’s home was an added bit of authentic Costa Rica! If you can request these two I promise you an outstanding and joyful day of birding! Pura Vida!
